My 1972 Daimler Sovereign 2.8ltr |
Bought 3 years ago as daily transport, the car is currently off the road awaiting a full restoration. Fundementaly sound, the car had been restored at the end of the 80's, and some areas are starting to come through again.
Once the Coupe is complete, the S1 will come in for a full body restoration and engine rebuild.
During its use as everyday transport, the car was taken off the road for a week at a time to carry out some repairs.
As with Mr. Munceys S1, the inner and outer drivers sill required replacing.
The boot floor needed light repair, as did the valance.
The small repairs were repainted 'in house'. A full bare metal repaint will be carried out after the full restoration.
This page should be updtaed next year, when hopefully the full restoration will commence.

With the new workshop operational, mine has been moved in - and work will soon resume!
At last! SOME progress. The engine and gearbox are now removed.
Two areas requiring attention - both front wings - and both rear wings. Two new old stock front doors, and one raer door skin will also be fitted. A new old stock bootlid has been sourced - just looking for a NOS bonnet now! |
With the interior stripped - damage to the inner sill on the passenger side is clear. This side has remained untouched since I bought the car. |
